HPM Maui

(ES Madison x MS Diva/ES Dollberg)

2005 Elite Hanoverian Mare

HPM Maui is a 2005 Elite Hanoverian mare by the imported ES Madison out of the imported Main Studbook mare Diva by ES Dollberg of the famous Duft II - Duellant line. Maui was bred by Dr. Lori Minteer of Reflections Farm in Jupiter, Florida. Maui was shown through third level and was training PSG with Eliza Sydnor Romm of Eliza Sydnor Dressage in Chapel Hill, North Carolina when an injury forced her retirement to the breeding shed.

We have had three excellent colts (one by Ampere and two by ES Liberty Gold) and a truly stunning filly (by ES Liberty Gold) from this mare. Maui is now retired and living the good life as a beloved and spoiled pasture ornament on Blossomwood Farm.

ES MADISON (MATCHO AA - WOLFSBURG)

Maui’s sire, Madison, a son of Matcho AA, the famous Anglo-Arab, was imported to the United States in 1997 and stood in California and Florida. In Germany, Madison was a member of the famous “Quadrille of Stallions” at Landgestut in Celle, Germany. Madison produced numerous top breeding mares and dressage horses and was known for passing along his excellent temperament, exceptional movement and outstanding jumping ability.

Matcho AA is considered to be one of the most influential outcrosses in Hanoverian breeding. A French Anglo-Arabian, Matcho AA was bought by the State Stud at Celle and won his performance test against all the Hanoverian stallions. He was used as a refinement stallion on heavier warmblood mares and his offspring are known for their good temperaments and rideability as well as having three good, solid gaits.

DUFT II

Widely considered to be the most influential son of Duallant, Duft II sired Darling, who is one of the more influential D-line dressage stallions. Maui’s dam, Diva, has the D-line on both the top and bottom of her pedigree.

Duellant

Duallant sired a number of famous stallions that were well-known for their outstanding conformation and movement as well as their great dressage talent. The D-line goes back to Devil’s Own, who was a very influential Thoroughbred cross, which then led to the equally famous Detectiv and his son Dolman, the sire of Duallant.
